Second, the way the single player game unfolds is really quite unique. But as far as a two player game is concerned, you would be hard pressed to find a better title for rock-em sock-em, gimmie five action. Let's hope Incog adds it for the inevitable sequel. On a side note, I can't believe that this title was not released with the ability for online play, which it would have been perfectly suited for. First, the multiplayer is phenomenal, if you consider multiplayer to mean only two players. Even after you have unlocked everything it is still fun to play in 2 player mode for hours. There are a couple of things of interest to mention in case you are still wondering whether or not you should pick up this title. This is probably the worst part about the control of the game. Many times this transition can cause slight disorientation and force you to change the direction you are trying to go on the controller. 2 player mode has a split screen, but when the 2 players get close to each other, the screen changes to a single screen. You can also unlock several minigames, which can be pretty entertaining. The more missions you play, the more levels and characters you can unlock. You can pick up cars and throw them and you can climb and destroy buildings until the entire city is leveled. You can select from a number of large monsters and fight in a city. There is a mission mode, which is ok, and theres a 2 player mode, which is awesome. It is very much like an updated version of the old arcade game Rampage. If it looks destructible, it most likely is.Įnding movies make sense to the monster creation.Ĭon's- When you put AI difficulty up, be prepared immediately!! Pro's- Original/New looking characters you can name from movies Then the enemy AI is very well-put and adjustable.

The special attacks that you can use is nice and effective(Congar's Scream goes through walls/buildings). The taunt-then-have-extra-power-until-your-energy-runs-out is very cool. The creativity of the moves, and how you can stomp on people and blast buildings apart are very cool. Then you have the Energy and Health pick ups. Throw it, steal it in air, grab opponents, and kick butt are all easy learning controls. Grab an object and pound it into the head of your enemy, skewer yor enemies with radio towers, and flag poles. Then add to the fray of moves the long and short specials. He could be said that he is very balanced ground based, but one combo loving, hard hitting monkey. King Kong is juat a name that would immediately pop into your mind when you see the characters. this has solid graphics, gameplay is fun/easy learning controls, and the monsters are very cool and creative. More like a great classic beat'em up fighter. This fighting game is not like other fighting games.

Two players can also compete in three different mini-games, once these are unlocked with tokens earned in the single-player Adventure mode. The screen is split as the two human-controlled monsters wreak destruction independently, in different parts of the city, then merges for same-screen action as the colossal contenders come together to fight with one another. War of the Monsters offers an innovative use of screen views when two players go head-to-head. As in the single-player versions, opponents can choose the location of the battle and the CPU-controlled monsters that will also enter the fray. An Endurance mode challenges the player's B-movie beast to defeat as many successive opponents as possible.įree-For-All and Endurance modes are also available for two-player games.

Solo gamers can also enter Free-For-All deathmatch battles, in which the number of re-spawns and other winning conditions can be adjusted. Knocking down buildings and stomping through traffic isn't just for fun here - it can actually help the monsters earn special game tokens, which can be used to purchase new "costumes," mini-games, and other hidden features.
War of the monsters 2 player series#
War of the Monsters offers a single-player Adventure mode, in which players guide their chosen creature through a series of opponents and bosses in several different stages. The movie-style monsters can also fight with found objects, braining a foe with a telephone pole perhaps, or impaling it with the pointy end of a radio tower. In addition to jumps, punches, kicks, and combination moves, each creature has a ranged attack and other special abilities. Towering skyscrapers are reduced to rubble as the giant monsters brawl in the crowded streets, reshaping their urban battlefield as they go.
War of the monsters 2 player serial#
Proudly presented in a style befitting a 1950s sci-fi serial or an Inoshiro Honda film, War of the Monsters follows the feats of eight gargantuan creatures (plus two more that can be unlocked) as they pound and pummel one another through cities around the world.
